Two 18-year-old men have been arrested after an armed robbery along the 9000 block of Mary Ave NW. Police say a teenage boy was walking with some friends late last month when a car pulled up and several males demanded money. The 15 year-old victim handed over spare change, but the suspects wanted more. They demanded his cell phone and cash. When the teen didn’t cooperate, police say “one of the suspects pulled out a black handgun from his backpack and the victim immediately handed over his phone and some cash.”
The victim was able to identify one of the suspects, police say. An 18-year-old was arrested earlier this month and booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery. According to police, a second 18-year-old suspect was arrested last week after he confronted the victim. Police say the suspect told the victim that he was involved in the robbery and wanted him to know there was no gun in the car that day. The victim contacted police and the second suspect was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery and Tampering with a Witness.
Nice! Hopefully they'll get a couple years in the state pen. Knock knock, whose there? Anal rape…
They deserve it. Enjoy “Carl” you P'sOS.
What are these dirtbags names?
I have to agree with Dan, for the rest of it.
That 15 yr old victim is one brave kid! Job well done on his part.
Surely these are just more “good kids who made a mistake”.
Pretty close to Whitman Middle School. Can't even walk to and from school without being robbed. Aren't there laws about using firearms near a school? 1000 yard rule or something?
squeakywheel, there are laws against using firearms to rob people. That is why they were arrested.
Mary, Squeaky meant additional laws. For instance selling drugs in a slum will get a certain amount of years, but selling drugs within a certain distance of a school will get you a much bigger sentence. Just equate that to guns, and you've got Squeakies question, and it's a good question actually.
yup, these are some proud ballard parents' children. precious snowflakes, one and all.
All the talk about the perps…the kid is the great story here. what a head on his shoulders. To report the initial robbery, then to not be intimidated by the second suspect…and report him, too! Amazing. Way to go kid!!
Gentrification will hopefully push the scum bags out.
This happened at 4 in the afternoon. The victim has been harassed at school and home since this incident, trying to get him to recant. Press charges against everyone involved, including the harassers! This is not tolerable, and I fear for my kids safety.
Like it has so far? I cant even walk outside anymore with out seeing 15 campers or shady vans parked outside. Oh, and how about that Ballard Commons park? I drove by it the other day and…wow. Gentrification works great huh?
