Although relief is on the horizon, Friday is still another hot day. The National Weather Service has issued another heat advisory until 9 o’clock Friday evening.
We met up with folks staying cool at the water feature at Ballard Commons Park on Thursday afternoon.
Even this hot dog got some much-needed relief from the heat.
Other places to stay cool are the Seaview Wading Pool (1590 NW 90th St) which is open Saturday, Sunday and Monday from noon until 7 p.m., East Green Lake Beach (7201 E Green Lake Dr. N) which is open weekdays from Noon to 7 p.m. and weekends: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Green Lake Wading Pool (7201 E Green Lake Dr. N) which is open daily 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the Wallingford Wading Pool which is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from noon – 7 p.m.
The forecast is calling for highs in the 70s to 80s over the weekend and then lower 70s as we start next week.
Nice to see more families and kids in the park than bums.
Hey GeekySwedes, did you tell all those families about how you give money to the Ballard Chamber of Commerce so they can sue to stop the bike trail families in Ballard want?
I think given your association with the Ballard Chamber and their anti bike trail lawsuits, you guys would be more comfortable hanging out down on Shilshole with the cement trucks.

Not all of us think so.
It’s outrageous that a neighborhood blog would give financial support to the plaintiffs suing to stop the Missing Link trail.
Some of us care about the neighborhood, not the oil company.
How is it ridiculous logic? The Swedes give money the Chamber. The Chamber files lawsuits to stop the trail. It is a direct association.
As members, they are technically plaintiffs in the lawsuit to stop the trail.
…which is why the Chairman of SeafoodFest has been bragging about it recently.
A post of photos of cute neighborhood kids and dogs taking a break from the heat hardly calls for a political spew. Whether you’re right or wrong, SF, posting this Missing Link rant after this particular post is a non sequitur. Fight your battle in the right battlefield. Dont over-estimate Ballards support for The Bike Agenda. Many of us bike riders support the Chamber in general, the trail extension in principle, and the Geeky Swedes specifically. Come on here being your basic Dbag and you’ll find out you just did more harm than good for the cause of wheel spinners. (Somebody with a clue would apologize)
Just another non-anti-CoC bike rider here, chiming in with support for the Geeky Swedes and for keeping trail flaming to trail-related topics.
I’ll also toss in another plea for getting forum software that allows us to set up individual lists of which posters’ posts to hide from our gaze. It’s not often needed, but very handy at times!

Hey Safety First, not all of us want the trail. I think its more important that we keep our industry right now and keep jobs local. We may not always have Boeing and amazon and all the other big tech company’s, and when that time comes (may be soon with all the tax increases), I think we’ll be thankful that we still have some of our industry left.

It’s outrageuos to think that myballard is some charitable venture. It’s not a “neighborhood blog” its a news source that is paid for by selling advertising. You want a neighborhood blog that doesn;t have advertising, feel free to start one yourself.
Anyone wanting to sell advertising or get their name out about a new venture or just have a source of news about the neighborhood is going to join at least one Chamber type group in order to meet potential customers and network.
Once again lack of the basic undersanding of what any CoC does and how business works.
