Ballard is full of talented people, including many authors. Next Tuesday, more than two dozen authors who live here in the neighborhood will gather at the Sunset Hill Community Association (3003 NW 66th St) for Authors & Neighbors: A Showcase of Ballard Writers. “From poets to graphic novelists, crime writers to award-winning picture book author/illustrators, from self-published to internationally distributed, this evening will offer a rare opportunity to meet ‘the writer next door,'” Peggy Sturdivant, a local author, tells us in an email.
The event includes a panel discussion moderated by Erica Bauermeister which will discuss the changing relationship between publishing and building an audience. There will be Q & A as well as book sales by Secret Garden Bookshop. The free event runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on October 19th.
