On June 4 and 11, People for Puget Sound will host rain garden tours around Ballard. June 4 is a bicycle tour starting at 10 a.m. at Bergen Place Park (5420 22nd Ave. NW). June 11 is a walking tour, and will meet at 10 a.m. at the Loyal Heights Elementary playground.
The tours will be an hour and a half long and will visit different residences in Ballard to learn about rain garden designs. Participants will be able to, “speak with residents about the design process, special considerations, and the results of their rain gardens and cisterns,” Robert Hall from People for Puget Sound wrote in an email. He said the tour will feature residents who have participated in Seattle Public Utility’s RainWise program.
Hall said coffee will be available before the tour, and appetizers will be served afterward at Snoose Junction Pizzeria.

I would like to tour the dysfunctional rain gardens on 28th North of 65th.
would one of those content neighbors like to lead a tour?
Yeah, somehow I have a feeling they won’t be including and of those fetid cesspools that the city spent half a million dollars on because some moron never bothered to check the local soil conditions.
No, I’m sure it will all be rainbows and unicorns. Hooray!!!
Welcome to Sunset Hill! Thrill your friends and neighbors with your very own Rain Garden Mosquito Breeding Program! Hours of fun for the whole family!
Only in Seattle do they celebrate failure. The only thing Seattle adores more than a glorious vision, is a glorious vision that ends in disaster.
The left NEVER concedes to failure people. NEVER. They just come at you again and again using your $$ and different folks feeling “they’re THE one”. Sound familiar? As in “hope and change”? OK then, let’s talk busing. And how convenient that these wonderful people are sponsors. Imagine freaking that. Crony-capitalism strikes again. Saving the planet, 1 rain-garden @ a time!
