Each month Ballard Rotary honors two students of the month. This month, seniors Alex Bowns and Andria Ellis are recognized. From Carrie Burr Athletic/Activities Director at Ballard High School:
Alex Bowns is an outstanding student with a 3.91 GPA and is captain of both Ballard’s track and cross country teams. Alex has been a varsity runner since freshmen year. This year, he made his third trip to state for the cross country team, placing 15th overall. Alex works as an assistant to a paralegal at a local law firm Mullavey and Prout. He intends on pursuing a double major in business and computer science. Alex is applying to Santa Clara, Gonzaga, University of Portland, and the University of Washington.
Andria Ellis is an incredible student involved in Ballard’s Biotech Academy and has taken numerous advanced placement classes all with a 4.0 GPA. Andria is highly involved at Ballard in student leadership, clubs and sports. Andria served as class of 2012 President from freshmen year to junior year; she also participates in Model United Nations and is an active member of National Honors Society. She has earned letters in both Tennis and Soccer for Ballard and works at the Olympic Athletic Club. Andria is a member of Ballard Boys and Girls club Keystone teen leadership program. She is applying to Stanford and Boston University where she plan on majoring in biomedical engineering.
