You can’t see them, but crews are continuing to paint the Ballard Bridge. Through this month the contractor working for the Seattle Department of Transportation is working on the north bascule leaf of the bridge – the north side of the two parts of the bridge that open for marine traffic. The work being done is currently under the bridge, out of sight.
As crews work along the bridge, another round of northbound lane closures are expected the last week of February. During the closure, the right-hand northbound lane will be closed from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Toward the end of the month the contractor will begin nighttime southbound closures to paint the steel trusses above the driving deck. These closures will be 6:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
