A new popcorn place is opening on Saturday on NW Market St. It’s called Kukuruza Gourmet Popcorn, and is going in at the old Cookie’s location at 2211 NW Market St.
Kukuruza, which means “corn” in Russian, will sell gourmet popcorn in more than a dozen different flavors at this location, their second in Seattle (Kukuruza is also on 3rd and Pike in downtown Seattle). The owners also run Popcorn Pavilion in Bellevue.
“We developed all the recipes ourselves and have monthly ‘new flavor offerings, as well as unique seasonal flavors,” writes co-owner Ashley Jones. They serve the popcorn fresh everyday, and sell three different take-away bags as well as a variety of tins and gift boxes, according to Jones.
The store will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.
