On Saturday, June 23, more than 150 children and a handful of adults from Ballard will perform in a dance “extravaganza” called “Jukebox Jamboree.” The performance, organized by the Ballard Academy of Music and Dance, is at the Seattle Children’s Theatre at the Seattle Center.

Dancers will, “don professional and adorable costumes, and will dance to some of the greatest tunes from the ’50s and ’60s, some performed by a live band,” according to academy director Colt Valenti. All dancers and musicians are members of the Ballard Academy, which opened in February 2010 and provides music lessons and dance classes to both children and adults. The dancers will perform to a sold-out audience on Saturday, at 3 p.m.
