Robbery and knife assault at Ballard Safeway

Just before midnight on Saturday night at the Ballard Safeway on NW Market St., a man stabbed a security guard after shoplifting in the store. The SPD Blotter says the suspect, “resisted the security officers’ attempts to keep him in the store and stabbed a security officer in the ear with a knife.  The suspect then fled the store.” The man was caught four blocks away by the responding officers and was placed under arrest, and the Seattle Fire Department treated the injured store employee.
