Tomorrow night (Wed., Nov. 14), Chuck’s Hop Shop (656 85th Ave NW) is hosting a celiac disease fundraiser, organized in part by Dominick Cura, the Ballard teen who penned his own gluten-free cookbook earlier this year. The fundraiser is from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow night, and proceeds will go to sending copies of Cura’s cookbook, “Eternally Gluten-Free,” to children with celiac disease.
Each year, the University of Chicago sends gluten-free care packages to about 500 children, and Cura hopes to raise enough money through the fundraiser to send copies of his book with those care packages. At the fundraiser, Chuck’s will feature gluten-free Harvester Brewing from Portland and the gluten-free Urban Nomad Food Truck for patrons. The event is family-friendly and will include raffle prizes.
