This weekend is the Leif Erikson Lodge’s annual crab feed, auction and dance to benefit the organization’s youth scholarships. The event is Saturday, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. and in addition to their crab feed (they’re also offering stuffed chicken or Cornish game hen), they’ll be conducting a silent auction for the Sons of Norway Educational Foundation, which helps support youth camps and youth community leaders through scholarships.
After the dinner, 2012 Leadership Scholarship recipient Molly Barnes will sing, followed by blues and rock music from Miles from Chicago. Tickets for the event are $30 for adults and $15 for students and children under 12. The lodge’s office is selling tickets from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The ticket prices go up to $35 tomorrow, because they’ll have to go fetch extra crab for the latecomers. They say that people should bring their own picks and crab crackers.
The organization has also started taking scholarship applications for this year. To learn more about the event or scholarship information, click here. For the event flyer, click here.
