Over the weekend, Seattle PI released a slideshow of the 50 Seattle neighborhoods with the most residential burglaries reported in the past five years. Although Ballard was not in the number one spot, that position was filled by a Laurelhurst/View Ridge-neighborhood beat that saw 722 residential burglaries reported in the past five years, many local beats were featured.
“In the past five years, Seattle police have received more than 21,000 reports of residential burglaries,” writes Seattle PI columnist Levi Pulkkinen. “They simply show the number of reports, not whether the crimes reported actually occurred,” Pulkkinen continues. According to the article, the statistics used to compile the report come directly from SPD.
