Seattle Parks and Recreation will join other public and private aquatic facilities throughout Washington to celebrate the 21st Annual April Pools Day this weekend.
More than 25 facilities throughout the state are working together to help families prepare for a safe summer by hosting free events that offer water safety tips and activities.
Locals of all ages are welcome to attend and will have the opportunity to learn hands-on water safety in and out of the water. Activities will include practicing wearing and using life jackets, learning about hypothermia, taking a boat ride, practicing reaching and throwing rescues and CPR.
Participants can also enter a drawing for a free life jacket and other prizes.
Our local event will be held this Saturday, April 19, from 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Ballard Pool (1471 NW 67th St). The event is free and all are welcome to attend.
