Easter weekend is here! Enjoy it in Ballard at some of these fantastic events.
Friday, April 18:
- Drink Like a Viking Aquavit Release Party at the Swedish Club (1920 Dexter Ave N) from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Join the Old Ballard Liquor Co. for the release of their seasonal spring Aquavit. Admission is free, the band is live, bar snacks and cocktails are discounted and formal dinner is available for purchase.
- Ballard Jazz Festival’s The Ballard Jazz Walk starts at New York Fashion Academy (5201 Ballard Ave NW) at 7 p.m. Tickets: $30, $26 online advance.
- Comedy Sportz Seattle Show at new venue Atlas Theatre (3509 Fremont Ave N) at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Click here for more details and to buy tickets.
- Vona Launch Party at the Seattle Creative Arts Center (2601 NW Market St) from 8 p.m. Live music by the Fabulous Party Boys, 2 free drinks from Reuben’s Brews of Ballard, open mic, karaoke, and appetizers. Event is free. Click here for more details.
Saturday, April 19:
- Easter Egg Hunts in and around Ballard organized by Seattle Parks and Recreation. Events are low cost or free and all are welcome. Click here for more details.
- East Ballard Community Association Clean Up a Street Day. Meet at 10 a.m. at Blowing Sands Glass (5805 14th Ave NW). Meet up with the EBCA a over coffee and breakfast snack . Help tidy up 14th Ave NW and care for the planters. Stay and have lunch donated by Ballard Market. Come dressed for the weather.
- Sweet Mickey’s Annual Egg Hunt at Ballard Commons Park (5701 22nd Ave NW) from 11 a.m. All are welcome and the event is free.
- Ballard Jazz Festival’s Swedish Pancake Jazz Brunch (All Ages) at The Nordic Heritage Museum (3014 NW 67th St) from 11 a.m. – 1 :30 p.m. Tickets: $15, $12 online advance.
- Chickens in the Garden Kids’ Seminar at Swanson’s Nursery (9710 15th Ave NW) from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Bring the kids in for this fun, informative session with local horticulturalist and urban farmer, Ingela Wanerstrand. You will meet Ingela’s (very friendly) hen and some cute chicks while learning about how helpful chickens can be in your own garden. Cost is free.
- Starting Your Veggie Garden with Rolf and Aimee at 9701 15th Ave NW at 3 p.m. Do you want to start a vegetable garden? Have a million questions? Then join us for this seminar for beginning gardeners. Bring your questions and your enthusiasm!
- The Ballard Jazz Festival’s Mainstage Concert (All Ages) at The Nordic Heritage Museum (3014 NW 67th St) from 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $18-55, $15-$50 online advance.

- Easter Egg Hunt at Salmon Bay Park (2001 NW Canoe Pl) from 1 p.m. The Salmon Bay Eagles Club is proud to sponsor this annual event for over 50 years. Bring all the kids you know for the fun. Age groups are 6 and under and 7 to 12. There will be prizes, candy, and even money prizes.

On the one hand, an egg hunt at Salmon Bay Park has to be better than Ballard Community Center because it has, you know, terrain. But isn’t the entire Easter egg hunt demographic asleep at 1PM?
