Portage Bay Cafe’s newest location is getting ready to open.
Last fall we wrote that the popular organic cafe would be moving into the old Grace’s Kitchen location at 2821 NW Market. We heard from the owners who tell us they plan to open on July 7th. That’s two weeks from tomorrow.

I'm hoping that this will be remote enough that it won't be constantly slammed (though, of course, I hope they do a good business). On the other hand, it might be such a draw that other businesses down that way (I'm looking at you, KISS Cafe) start to crowd up. Could pull the whole center of Ballard a bit west.
That is great news! The Gunnars are wonderful folks and I'm so happy to read that they're doing so well.
This is a good restaurant. Everybody should go there.
