The now-closed QFC store on 24th Ave. will be demolished later this month, reports the Ballard News-Tribune. An eight-story apartment building called “Ballard on the Park” will be built in its place, along with a bigger QFC that’s slated to open in late 2009. Lead architect Mark Simpson (who’s a 25-year Ballard resident) says he’ll stick with a simple but modern Scandinavian design.
QFC is boarded up and awaiting the wrecking ball.
