Sustainable Ballard seeks proposals for community project funding

By Joe Veyera

Sustainable Ballard is accepting applications through September 5 for small community projects after receiving a $2,600 grant from Waste Management for the “Think Green Challenge.”

Applicants can be individuals, organizations, or groups, and proposals must be for new projects initiated by a Ballard neighbor and benefiting the Ballard community. Applicants can apply for all or part of the grant money.

Proposals should include a project description (including how the work will be done in the neighborhood), the fund amount requested, a timeline of the project (work should be completed by June 30, 2015, with a start date no sooner than January 1), and your name, phone number, email address and — if applicable — non-profit name and Tax ID number.

You can submit your proposal to Sustainable Ballard’s selection committee by sending an email to info@sustainableballard.org, with winners of the funding announced in October.
