Seattle chef Mike Guanlao is launching his highly anticipated food truck Kiss My Grits at a series of soft openings in our neighborhood. The first is set for tonight at Hilliard’s Beer (1550 NW 49th St).
Guanlao first started Kiss My Grits in February as a pop-up restaurant and as the weather warmed up he chose to build a following by cooking at local farmers markets. After months of refining his signature dishes he will be bringing his Southern style comfort food to the streets of Seattle in his food truck.
In addition to today’s event, he will be throwing a series of soft openings at the local neighborhood breweries below:
- October 10 at Stoup Brewing (1108 NW 52nd St) 5pm – 9pm
- October 17 at Populuxe Brewing (826B NW 49th St) 5pm – 9pm
Guanlao will be serving up his signature favorites including Shrimp and grits (shrimp saluted with bacon mushrooms and green onions served over buttery grits), Hoppin’ John (black eyed peas, grits and greens with Samba Mayo) and The Market Special.
Kiss My Grits will be serving from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. or until sold out. Click here to learn more about the event.
