This week the My Ballard team thought it was time take a look back at some fantastic photographs taken of a number of Ballardites back in the 1970s.
The black and white photo below, taken on June 9 1976, features Rocky Boettger, third baseman for the Ballard Merchants, blowing a bubble during a game at the Loyal Heights Fieldhouse.
The black and white photo below, taken on May 17 1975, features Queen Bernice Furdal from the Sons of Norway Leif Erickson Lodge waving from the back of a car during the Syttende Mai Parade.
The black and white photo below, taken in April 1977, features Leon who was a busboy at the Ballard Smoke Shop.
The black and white photo below, also taken at the Ballard Smoke Shop in 1977, features Marvin Sjoberg dubbed the “Honorary Mayor” of Ballard.
The black and white photo below, taken in July 1974, features “Princess Donna” Pruett from Bethany, Oklahoma, walking with arms spread wide next to “Miss Ballard 1974” during the Greenwood Seafair Parade.
