As part of the monthly Ballard Art Walk this Saturday, May 9, the Li’l Woody’s team has invited three local elementary schools to display their artwork and go head to head in a month-long art contest.

Artwork by students from Adams Elementary, Loyal Heights Elementary and West Woodland Elementary will go on display this Saturday and remain hanging until the end of the month with the decision in the hands of locals as to which school is the best.

Locals are able to vote multiple times over the course of the competition, but only once per day, and votes must be made on site at Li’l Woody’s (2040 NW Market St).

The school with the most votes at the end of the month will have the opportunity to create a special “Burger of the Week” for the week of June 9, with all proceeds from the burger going towards the winning school’s art program.

“It’s cool to be able to acknowledge these kids and their hard work,” says Marcus Lalario, owner of Li’l Woody’s.

Each school will display up to 12 pieces of art throughout the month of May starting at this Saturday’s Art Walk.
