My Ballard reader Adam has emailed to let us know his tuxedo cat, Mimzy, is still missing from their home near the corner of 32nd and 54th St, just across from the Locks. He’s determined to get her home, and is planning an event with a contest and prizes for those who help out.
“Me and my fiancée have been drastically searching for almost a month now for our 15-month-old tuxedo beauty Mimzy,” Adam writes. He says the last verified sighting was on 15th and 87th near the Chase Bank, and says he gets numerous calls from the posters he’s put up around town, but that they’re often reports of other tuxedo cats in the area.
Adam is organizing an event and enlisting help from neighbors on Saturday to hand out flyers and look for Mimzy. “I intend to have a bbq with a rummage sale for donations to help curb the costs of the search,” Adam tells us. “I want to provide free food for anyone willing to spend an hour taking my flyers to houses in specific areas that I will assign.” He’s going to print 1,000 flyers and will set up a contest to help encourage people to help find her.
Adam has been putting QSR bar codes on the posters. He says the contest will require people to post a picture of the poster on their Facebook feed, tag “MissingMimzy” and share the location. That will then enter them into a drawing with a grand prize of a catered dinner with a private chef for up to eight people. He’s going to give other prizes for people who help out, including a gift basket and original artwork from a local artist.
“There’s nothing worse than not knowing where your little girl is,” Adam writes.
