Tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 1) is the Nordic Heritage Museum’s Nordic Nights program and it coincides with their free entry night. They’ll have the Ballard High School Jazz Combo playing at 6 p.m. and all museum exhibits open until 8 p.m. The museum will also have craft-making for kids and adults throughout the night.
The featured exhibit is Keep Clam and Carry on: The Ivar Haglund Story, which tells the story of the man behind the Ivar’s restaurants.
“This exhibition will highlight the fascinating life of this seafood magnate, emphasizing his Scandinavian heritage, musical talents, ventures into radio and television, and successes in business innovation and entrepreneurship. Included will be a wealth of personal artifacts and memorabilia. Visitors will experience the fascinating life of this Seattle original through photographs, sound recordings, advertising campaigns, television commercials and programs, personal ephemera, and much more.”
