This Saturday, September 23 is the annual Fishermen’s Fall Festival in Fishermen’s Terminal. Now in its 29th year, the festival is a celebration of the Pacific fishing fleet returning to Seattle. From 11am to 6pm, there will be live music, free Ship Canal tours, a wild salmon barbecue, and even survival suit races.
“The Festival celebrates the return of the North Pacific fishing fleet to the terminal, works to increase the public’s knowledge of the importance of the fishing industry as well as Fishermen’s Terminal to Seattle while raising money for the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial Foundation,” the organizers tell My Ballard.
Proceeds from the activities within the festival will be donated to the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial Foundation to assist families of fishers lost at sea. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome. For more information, have a look at the Facebook event page for the festival.
