Free Community Screening: Angst, 7 p.m. April 4, Roosevelt High School Auditorium
April 4, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
FreeThe Roosevelt High School PTSA is proud to present a special community screening of Angst at 7 p.m. April 4 in the Roosevelt Auditorium. The Angst project is an IndieFlix Original documentary designed to raise awareness around anxiety with an emphasis on youth and families. The film includes interviews with kids, teens, experts and parents. Our goal specifically is to help people identify and understand the symptoms of anxiety and encourage them to reach out for help.
After the screening, we will host a panel of local experts who specialize in working with children, adolescents and their families. Panelists include:
• Amanda Schwarz – Roosevelt School Nurse
• Auky van Beek – Neighborcare Health at Roosevelt High School – Physician (PA-C)
• John Lynch – Roosevelt School Psychologist
• Frank Heffernan – Roosevelt Student Counselor
• Karen Bullard – Yoga/Mindfulness teacher
• Ariel Ravid – Psychologist specializing in anxiety and child/teen treatment
Panelists will be on hand to answer questions, discuss childhood anxiety and its symptoms, and to provide resources for support. In lieu of payment, we are asking for donations to the student Suicide Prevention Team OR Packs for Kids (our weekend food program). This is a powerful film that you don’t want to miss. All are welcome (recommended age is 10+ for children).
