If you’re not planning to toss your Christmas tree into the New Year’s Day Golden Gardens bonfire party, you can have it picked up for free by the city.
Seattle Public Utilities will be picking up trees and other holiday greenery alongside compost bins throughout the month of January. They ask that residents put their trees next to their food and yard waste cart on their collection day.
SPU says trees should be cut down to four-foot lengths or less and that all decorations must be removed.
Trees can also be dropped off at SPU’s north or south transfer stations through Jan. 31 — stations will accept up to three trees per vehicle.
…the one thing they WON’T STEAL off our lawns. Oh the irony!
Also, Xmas Tree Disposal Tax when?
