The Seattle Home Fair is coming to Sunset Hill tomorrow (Jan. 26).
Put on by the Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections (SDCI) the fair will have free information for renters, homeowners, and landlords and will feature experts on rental housing rules, coaching on obtaining permits for renovations, and breakout sessions on topics including landslide prevention, backyard cottages, and earthquake retrofits.
This is the first time the Seattle Home Fair is happening in Ballard — the department has hosted the fair in South Seattle the past two years with a great turn-out, so they decided to add the North Seattle fair to reach more people.
Seattle Public Utilities will be on hand to give out information about recycling, composting and waste reduction. RainWise will be there with information on rain gardens and cisterns; Rebuilding Together Seattle will provide info on free health- and safety-focused home repairs for low-income homeowners; and Seattle Hubs will be there to explain how the city’s Emergency Communications Hub works.
The free fair will be from 10am to 2pm at the Sunset Hill Community Club (3003 NW 66th St) — RSVP here.
