The next community meeting to discuss future planning for the Crown Hill Urban Village is coming up this weekend.
On Sunday, March 3, the city’s Office of Planning and Community Development (OPCD) will host a workshop to explore ideas that were highlighted by residents as priorities for design.
Crown Hill Urban Village is centered around the intersection of 15th Ave NW and NW 85th St, where Crown Hill, Loyal Heights, and Whittier Heights converge. While it’s home to about 2,500 residents, it’s never had its own community plan.
“Through this planning effort, we will work with community to develop a future vision for the Crown Hill Urban Village and within the proposed urban village expansion, and identify short- and long-term strategies to address community priorities,” an interactive story map from the OPCD reads.
Sunday’s workshop is the second in the planning and design phase, and will include three, 30-minute work sessions to allow participants to move between three stations: urban design and public realm, transportation, and building community/neighborhood identity.
The agenda is as follows:
- 12:30-1:00 p.m. Introduction & Background Materials
- 1:00-1:30 p.m. Work Session 1
- 1:30-2:00 p.m. Work Session 2
- 2:00-2:30 p.m. Work Session 3
- 2:30 p.m. Wrap-up
The meeting will be held at the Crown Hill Center (9250 14th Ave NW) from 12:30 to 2:30pm. For more information and background on the Crown Hill Urban Village, click here.
Who cares, Crown Hill isn’t Ballard.
Perhaps. And yet the Crown Hill Urban Village covers portions of Whittier Heights and Loyal Heights, which are undeniably part of Ballard.
It’s almost as if you just like to see yourself type, despite knowing you’re 101% wrong.
