The Seattle City Council voted today to place limits on those big “mega houses” (or McMansions, if you will) that are popping up around the neighborhood. “This is one of the issues I hear most about from neighborhoods all over Seattle,” said Councilmember Sally J. Clark. “I’m pleased we have passed
this new legislation to reign in the rush of oversized houses in our neighborhoods.” Among the limits, the legislation would adjust the formula for how much of a lot may be covered by the structure.
