Traditionally, the Álfablót was an ancient pagan sacrifice to the elves towards the end of autumn, when the crops had been harvested and the animals were most fat. Here at Skål we’ll host an Álfablót to express our thanks for the bounty of the harvest, recognize those we have lost and wish for the peace and prosperity of those who we consider family before the cold winter sets in. Traditionally, it was a time for sacrifice, honoring, and feasting. Little is known about the specifics due to the nature of secrecy that surrounded each celebration, so we will do our best here at Skål to create our own Elven Sacrifice. Join us for Norse storytelling, ceremonial toasts, runic candle-carving, and rune readings! And have yourself a beer or mead to commemorate! Skal!
