Donate Food & Household Items
To Seattle Coast Guard Food Bank
On Saturday, January 26, there will be a food drive for Coast Guard families that have been affected by the government shutdown. The food drive will be at the Fred Meyer store in Ballard from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Marcus Trufant, retired Seattle Seahawk, will be signing autographs and taking photos with donors.
About the Drive:
Over 3,000 active duty and reserve members, civilian employees, and Coast Guard Auxiliarists stationed in the Pacific Northwest are working without pay and their food bank is nearly empty.
Recently the food bank at the Seattle Coast Guard Station has experienced massive shortages. Some days the food bank supplies have been completely depleted. Supplies are going out faster than they are coming in.
Donors are asked to make a donation of non-perishable food, personal items, household supplies supplies, or baby items.
