Today is the grand opening for RoRo BBQ & Grill, filling the old Zesto’s location at the corner of 15th Ave NW and NW 65th St. across from Ballard High School. Their hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
It’s their third location (RoRo is also in Fremont and Wallingford) and owner Rob Carson says he’s happy to be filling the old Zesto’s because he’s been going there since he was a kid.
Carson said the memorabilia won’t be coming down. He wants to maintain the same feel as Zesto’s; they’re even keeping burgers on the menu.
Carson said there will also be a gourmet coffee bar serving individual cone filtered coffee. He hopes that will be open within the next month.
When asked about what will happen with the iconic Zesto’s sign, Carson said it will be coming down. A RoRo sign will be in its place, and he’s not yet sure about where the old sign will end up.
