Ballard will soon be home to the beloved Kangaroo and Kiwi Pub. It’s moving to the Carnegie Library, at 2026 NW Market St.
Owner Brad Howe, an Australian, says he was approached by the building owners who asked if he was interested in the space. “It just kinda happened, really,” says Howe, who plans to open in the new location in about a month. May 27th is the last day of business at the Green Lake location, where the pub has lived for 11 years. Howe says he plans to create some outdoor seating, and will have plenty of lunch and dinner options on the menu.
Howe, a Ballard resident, is happy to make the move. The pub will take up the space formerly occupied by Carnegie’s Restaurant, which closed just over a year ago.
